Fostair Nexthaler causing sleep disturbance or chronic insomnia?

My mum is 89 and has used a Nexthaler for over a year. She has terrible insomnia which has got to the point where she can only doze for a few minutes at a time and the last real sleep was for about 90 minutes a few days ago. Has anyone else had terrible insomnia from this inhaler? For the last few months she has also had atrial fibrillation and general anxiety. I've asked doctors about this inhaler but they just seem to ignore my concern.

Online it says it can cause sleep disturbances. What about speaking to a pharmacist? Some surgeries have one attached. Or use a pharmacy one.

Hi there.

I’ve been on Fostair Nexthaler for the last 3 months and have been feeling really tired the whole time. I know that this isn’t exactly the same symptom but it’s a little related. I’ve heard many people on here talking about side effects experienced with this drug.

I’d certainly do what @Wheezycat said and chat with the pharmacist. Dependant on how long your mum has been on it, they may advise to stick with it a little longer until it passes or advise to make an appointment with the GP.

I hope your poor mum gets some sleep soon!

Oh my days!!My Pharmacist at my GP changed my Seretide to Fostair? I am now suffering from hoarseness, throat irritation, mild headache, mild nausea, but my main problem is coughing 😞 I've had to increase my reliever Atrovent significantly. I've asked my Pharmacist and GP that I have given it my best shot (over 4 weeks), so can I go back to Seretide?? No, not until I have had a chest x-ray... they will send me a letter. I have chest pain yes, because I have been coughing so much 🙄😤 Very frustrated!
