If you are worried because you have been told that your results are good it is likely that your problems are psychological . Possibly you need help along these lines ?
I understand the worry, sometimes doctors are not thorough and miss stuff. I have had that experience countless times. Do you know if they tested for erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), C-reactive protein (CRP), or antinuclear antibodies (ANA)? Those are the most common inflammation-related blood markers for autoimmune disease. Your doctor may have been weeding that out as a possibility. If those were all negative, that's great news.
The most common inflammation tests for asthma are not bloodwork and are the ones you've likely already done in an office--spirometry, methacholine challenge, nitric oxide exhalation etc.
It's hard when you feel awful and have quick, short doctor's appointments and leave still feeling uncertain and anxious.
Keep educating yourself about asthma and be sure to write down all your questions and ask your doctors when you see them.
when i asked what they tested they said everything coudnt have been more perfect and tested for inflammation when i asked they said lungs and everything else xx
I've been under a respiratory consultant for 9 months had various test and been poked and prodded... one of those tests was a blood test for inflammation... they came back normal (infact perfectly normal for a healthy non asthmatic person).... the conclusion I have allergic asthma (my ige count is pretty high)
I wouldn't let it worry you sometimes the worry is worse than the diagnosis
Well I'm 4 years on and only just found out my asthma is allergic and most of my issues are allergy related I've had 3 ige tests starting at 37 then 43 and now 56... they tell me it should he under 15 but I've been on various Inhalers and now only take a prescription antihistamine and a few puffs of blue every now and again
But I know I'm allergic to dust pollen and various other things that you can breathe in
I've had the tests for inflammation in the lungs run twice and they where both the same... turns out I still have asthma
Yes they did but between the 3 consultants I've had a full chest ct,full lung function, so many blood tests, an exercise test, echocardiogram grams, 24 hour heart monitor, various ecg's... in the end its allergic asthma.... at one point they said its not your lungs it might be your heart
I had some tests with consultant which were normal but they have still ended up saying I got asthma. I have allergy already diagnosed. Don't worry they will find your issue.
