Another admission

I had another A&E admission yesterday... asthma exascerbation. Does anyone else bring up blood in their sputum on a regular basis I do ... currently resting at home I’m so tired and I have yet another course of steroids last night was terrible so restless I know the first couple of nights are really bad for me on these hence I’m shattered today.

Hi yes since my bad infection in Dec, I have been bringing blood up in both phlegm and sputum.

GP got me a fast track cancer referral which resulted in a chest and abdomen Ct which thankfully was fine iand showed no cause for bleeding. Consultant suggested if persists can go back have bronchoscopy but this could worsen my breathing so she wanted to hold off. She recommended ENT referral to check it out as could be from throat or nose. Awaiting appointment.

Steroid can really mess up your sleep pattern. I am on a reducing dose of Prednisolone after 3 courses and am awake regularly for 3 hrs. But I know will get better as I come off them

Not on a regular basis, but I do with a bad exacerbation.

Sorry for your trouble steroids are a real double edge sword but crucial for getting that inflammation down, I take mine first thing in the morning with food to try and avoid sleeping issues. Take care.
