Tender upper arms?!

Hi all,

Hope you are all keeping well.

Just to add to an array of weird symptoms, so any of you get tender upper arms along with your asthma symptoms? I tend to find it can come along with rib pain but they feel sore to touch like they are bruised. Could this be a side effect of meds or another asthma quirk do you think?

Thanks in advance!

I get this too. I don't know why but possibly as I'm using all the muscles in the area to breathe which is not their primary function and causing stress and pulling muscles as a result.

That could be true, mine fluctuates so considerably day to day, week to week so it’s hard to work out what could be causing it!

I have very tender upper arms. If they are bumped it really hurts. (More than it should) I have never thought this had anything to do with my asthma but have also never had an explanation for it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I know, so weird! I wondered whether it’s the meds, I’m on seretide 500 and I know they don’t like leaving you on it for a long time..?!

This may be pressure on spinal nerve roots caused by muscle behaviour.

I don't have particularly tender arms but I do have ridiculously tender legs! They bruise very easily too and there are always bruises on them. I think it's a side-effect of medication as the tenderness and bruising has increased in-line with medication being increased over time.
