Hi all, I have a pre admission meeting tomorrow for sinus surgery and polyp surgery however on my last visit to the consultant he said he would like to run a couple of blood tests due to some symptoms I have, just to rule out anything, he said he was looking for a rare lung disease as a precaution and didn’t really expect to find anything. However my blood tests came back positive 🥺 (anti p-ANCA antibodies and anti -MPO antibodies) I am totally shocked I don’t really know what this means or what to expect does anyone have this? I’ve googled but it’s very technical and scary so I’ve come off. Gosh it seems so strange that 4 years ago I had none of this.

Hi Matilda1
If you want to learn more about anca etc I suggest you have a look at the Vasculitis site: vasculitis.org.uk/. There is also a Vasculitis group here on HealthUnlocked which is very informative. I'm not saying that you have Vasculitis as its diagnosis is not straightforward but I believe that knowledge is important and the information that is presented there will enable you to be fully prepared for conversations with your consultants
