Asthma, not a good thing to have 2 years ago spent 6 days in hospital since then I follow my treatment exactly my peak flow has remained lower at 450 to max 500 do it every time I use my Symbicortrunning red inhaler twice a day. I have dogs and have to get one fit for Crufts usually run in a friends paddock but weather bad so decided to start fast walking/pretend jogging managed 50metres then walk till not breathless then run again. total of 25 minutes 3 times one week at times thought I had really overdone it as could not get enough air in bent double etc but after a few weeks noticed my peak flow has jumped up average now 520 to 550 and last night although not done the walk/ with the dog for over a week Peak flow was 580 twice. I am 68 years old and possibly should not do this as must really stress my heart but I am now feeling as if I want to do more and I feel really positive about the Asthma check up I have to go to. there is life in the old man yet. I am not saying people should copy what I am doing but some exercise that makes you use your lungs more when you are fairly ok may well help and even improve things.
