Hi all I know some of you have had to have antibiotics for chest infections and was wondering if you had any side effects from taking them. I just had an 11 day course of antibiotics. Its really upset my acid reflux and made it much worse. I now getting that horrible taste in my mouth as well as the heartburn. (already taking rabeprazole 20 mg twice a day)

Can any one got advice on how to get my acid reflux to settle down again.

You need to put the good bugs back in your body try activa yoghurt that will help also plenty of fresh fruit and veg. Good luck

Thanks as I can't eat yogurt (other long term health condition forbids it) I am going to buy probiotic caspules to take.

Probiotics or, if you have any yeast or fungal infection in your mouth, antifungal mouthwash. I am on it right now as steroids and recent 3 antibiotics at the same time gave me thrush and an awful taste. It sucks how antibiotics (and steroids for that matter) can do so much good but cause problems as well. I hope you feel better soon.

As well as probiotics I make sure my diet is strictly low acid foods.

My diet is also low acid diet because of having painful bladder syndrome. If I eat any acidic foods I e tomatoes my bladder hurts.
