It was so funny....

Hi there

I’ve just watched QI it was funny and made me laugh so much that I coughed alomost all of the way through it, now I’ve had to have a puff of Ventolin, now I’m exhausted, we are going out for the day, should I have some more Ventolin? Or will it just go away? Can laughing have tipped me into an asthma problem? Diagnosed just last year, so not quite sure how this asthma works.

If ever I end up laughing uncontrollably, I almost always end up wheezy. If there's a God, he really was having a laugh when he created asthmatics, wasn't He!

"I'm going to create this horrible illness, make it so you can't breathe, then if you try to have a laugh to deal with it...hehe, just wait & see".

Oh dear, no cure then, unless I just watch gloomy TV!

My wife is a big fan of programmes about murderers, especially women who have murdered their husbands...she sits there giving me funny looks which works well to stop me laughing at the telly :D

Oh no...lol (literally 😜😂)!

I’ve had a few asthma attacks from laughing... the worst was the one where I ended up in hospital and had to explain what triggered it (I had a cold but it was defo the laughing that landed me in hosp)... it was the most embarrassing/amusing situation...

‘So what triggered you this time?’ ‘Erm... well I was watching a comedy show and...’ 🤣.

My muttley laugh is a curse too cause others find it funny, laugh and then make me laugh even more 😅 - defo agree with Minushabens- God was having a laugh when he created asthmatics!

Yup it’s either depressing TV or taking your ventolin. If you’re still feeling tight/wheezy/SoB/coughing I’d take it again. Still go out but take it easy for the rest of the day... no more QI for you today 😉

That’s so funny that you mention Muttley. About the only advantage I can ever remember as a kid from being near enough the only asthmatic in school was I could do an absolutely brilliant Muttley impersonation. I wanted him & Dick Dastardly to win every week in spite of knowing they were doomed never to do so.

(For our younger readers, give Wacky Races a quick google!)

I am often left breathless after laughing a lot, for me it will pass after 10 - 15 minutes, I dont take my inhaler as I know it will pass.

I get the same! I nearly landed myself back in hospital after reading a damnyouautocorrect compilation shortly after getting home from A and E. Basically people often now find it hard to tell if I am laughing or coughing/mid attack due to the very similar noises made. It is a bit annoying that I can't fully enjoy something funny! Often get people saying 'no don't make her laugh' because they know the effect it can have.
