Mild copd or asthma
Hi sorry to hear this
Personally don’t have this myself, but I know long term poorly controlled asthma can lead to airway remodelling and cause changes leading to COPD. It’s not a nice situation to be in, but I think sometimes if they find the right meds for your asthma it can reverse the remodelling (not sure tho 😕).
I’m also told a lot I have inflamed lungs (severe asthmatic) I’m usually symptomatic at time so assume it’s just shoulding that my lungs are having issues...
Hope this helps x
YES!! I have exactly the same situation. My surgery insist I have COPD and Asthma. Respiratory services and a Consultant insist I have atopic Asthma. I have just had to accept the situation as they will not change their diagnosis.
It is very annoying but what can one do?
I have difficult asthma and about 2 years ago was prescribed Spiriva inhaler. It’s for COPD which officially I don’t have, but can be used to treat difficult asthma. It has made quite a big difference.
My GP said I had COPD & gave me Spyriva - made not the slightest difference so I saved the NHS money & stuck to my usual inhaler. I think individuals have very different reactions to things.
