Hi I started my mepo injections in January and apart from my reaction to actichlor I have been great. I’ve now come down with my first cold virus. Normally I start steroids straight away to try and avoid hospitalization, but now I’m on the injection don’t know if I need to?
However am I playing with fire by not starting them. The whole point of the drug is to cut my steroid use and reduce my hospital admissions.
Don’t want to take them unnecessarily, as they make me feel so I’ll and I loose loads of weight, which I can’t afford to do
Any advice please x

Are you using your ventolin more or has your PF dropped? If so take them, if not speak to either your GP or your asthma nurse from the specialist centre and get their advice. I’d also speak to someone if you do take them as from the sounds of it you’ve got yourself off of them (jealous over here!)
It could be that with mepo a cold is just a cold, but as it’s you first one since starting it’s better to be safe then sorry! They won’t kick you off the injection if you have to take steroids for an infection, they look at the whole picture and your quality of life improvement.
