Hi everyone, I keep getting a sore tongue with the odd ulcer. I always rinse my mouth after my inhalers. Does anyone know how to stop this happening and the best way to treat it?
Thanks

Have you asked your GP/nurse for a spacer? This will take the inhalant to the back of your mouth and protect your tongue.
Will get one and give it a go. Thanks
If you are using an MDI then a spacer is essential. If using a DPI, then rinsing your mouth well is really important, but don't use mouth wash. (as it can kill the good bacteria and then allow bad stuff to infiltrate). If you are getting ulcers then it's worth getting some zinc tablets /vit c tablets that you can suck. (available from chemists and amazon). These are really helpful for keeping mouth ulcers at bay. However if you continue to get bad mouth ulcers/ canker sores you should consult your doctor, as it can be a sign of a food allergy and it might be affecting your asthma.

Sorry, I am struggling here - what do MDI and DPI mean? I suppose ‘i’ stands for inhaler, but the rest?
Rinse mouth with water after using preventer inhalers, brush teeth, scrape tongue with tooth brush, use mouth wash, use aerochamber with inhalers if device compatible 😀
