I have been taking only my blue inhalors twice a day up until now when my asthma nurse insisted I start taking a preventor. Clencil. I feel really rough tight chested anxious tummy problems. Has anyone else had a similar problem . And if so what did you try next? Not convinced that preventor is working. Been on it for 4 weeks now.

Question on clenil
It is much better to be on a preventer, that works, than rely on a reliever. Clenil should be used with a spacer and you should rinse\gargle with water and spit out.
corticosteroids like Clenil can cause acid reflux (anxious tummy) and and acid reflux can cause upper air way inflammation or vocal chord dysfunction (tight chest).
Or it might be a simple as its not working for you.
You should see your GP as Clenil should be working after 3-4 days.
Thanks.
I couldn't get on with Clenil, and I tried 3 other preventers before deciding that the aerosol was causing breathing problems and settled on Symbicort Turbohaler, which is a dry powder. It's just a question of trying out a few until you get one that suits, but SimpleSimon is right, you shouldn't rely on the blue inhaler.
Have to also remember that being anxious gives you all the symptoms you have listed too
