We are looking to chat to someone who has been affected by taking steroids long term and been diagnosed with osteoporosis. It's for a media story so you'd be sharing your story in public.
If you'd like to chat to us in the next couple of days about this, please email Hannah on hjowett@asthma.org.uk
I'd be really interested to hear about anything this turns up - I've only been on daily prednisolone a relatively short time, but one of the things I've really noticed is a chronic fatigue in & around my hips & upper legs. I've been trying to build up some strength there, but in the end, I just end up feeling more tired. Any tips, exercise, routines, etc. to minimise the long-term risk would be very welcome.
I am a long term user of prendisolone steroids I can have a daily dosage of 40mg for a course of 8 weeks about 4 to 5 times a year and inhaler steroids daily for over 15 years! I’ve been diagnosed with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis as a cause of this.
