Confused and frustrated !!!

Morning all ....

I have had another A/E admission this weekend for another chest infection.. 3rd since October .. told 4 yrs ago I had developed asthma after a viral infection.. numerous exacerbations over last 4 yrs and also diagnosed with Laryngeal spasm last yr following a traumatic accident the yr before .. I manage those symptoms well and get no reactions now...

Under a fab consultant at the Brompton.. last month a histamine challenge was done as they are not convinced I have asthma .. and told they still don’t think I have asthma as didn’t react enough in the test .. still want me to use my inhalers as have tried to come of them numerous times with symptoms coming back ...

Allergy testing came back negative last year too ... BUT these symptoms ( acute SOB, difficulty in exhaling, rapid Resp rate- feel like I have a tight band round my ribs ) came back this time when weather changed last weekend .. same pattern as previous yrs ... I thought I had hay fever ( or I was trying to convince myself as didnt want to believe I had another infection) .... X-ray and lung sounds confirmed issue in right lung .. it’s

always that side ???

Does anyone have anything similar ??? I’m really frustrated ... I have emailed my consultant as at last appointment we agreed to monitor over the summer to see how I was .. but if I developed any issues they may do more in depth investigations .. I’m now at the stage I’ve had enough ... been well all my life .. until the viral infection 4yrs ago ... drs keep blaming my accident ( good old stress word pops up regularly )but this started a yr before .... ! I’m soooo frustrated ... and need to rant !!!! Sorry for long post on a Monday morning !!!!

Xx
