Hayfever cure!

Hi everyone,my names Gary and I’ve suffered with severe hayfever since school days.im now 49.most of you will probably not get it as bad as I had it.the whites of my eyes would go red and the corners of my eyes would itch like mad.on the worst days I used to pick this jelly like substance out of my eyes like strings of snot.sneezing fits constant running nose and burning throat 24/7.the only respite was if it rained hard.and even then the reprieve was short lived.ive been on steroids.prednisolone for most of my life during the summer months.

Anyway to cut a long story short,I bought an expensive top of the range water distiller a few years ago.cost me 200 quid.mainly as it saved me a lot on buying bottled water.but when hayfever season came around there was nothing.i noticed people sneezing around me.and I knew it was hayfever season but still nothing.not a sneeze.not an itchy eye.nothing.

I wrote to my doctor at the royal Brompton hospital in London to tell him of my apparent discovery.they said they’d look into it but i havnt heard anything back since.

So anyway I thought I’d share my experience so anyone else out there who is suffering horribly can try this to see if it also works for them.

I have noticed that if my carbon filter is due for replacement my hayfever creeps back in.so I’m guessing that VOC’s are responsible.

Also as hayfever is one of many immune disorders it would be interesting to see if drinking ultra clean water can cure other illnesses.

I’d be interested to hear everyone’s opinion and results concerning this matter.

All I can say is that I'm glad for you this made such a difference. I've had allergies since the late 1970s when I had my first allergic reaction to penicillin. These days I have multiple allergies, chemical reactions - pollens, cat, dog fur, diesel fumes, prawns, sesame seeds, eggs, perfumes, VOCs, plastic and react to a lot of things. Having spent a lot of money on different therapies and ideas over the years I tend to be sceptical. The most helpful was discovering what I react to and minimising my exposure to it.

I first developed hayfever then went onto have asthma in 2005 - they are not the same. Although I know you feel pretty horrendous with bad hayfever.

However, my experience is that total allergen load matters. If you cut down the load (of allergens) then your symptoms are likely to improve e.g. dust-mite free bedding and no carpets if you have dust mite allergy. It sounds like you may have found that there is something in your local water supply which disgrees with your immune system. It maybe chlorine which can certainly exacerbate breathing problems. It would be costly for anyone to research this although your local water board might give you a breakdown of what the water in your area contains and you could compare this with what the water filter removes.

Great that it works - Would be nice to know why! The only thing you need to be careful of is that distilled water has no natural minerals in it, which you need to replace somehow and is why you are not supposed to put water softeners on drinking water supplies. But people in soft water areas seem healthy enough, so perhaps it's not a big problem.

Hi super.i am in a soft water area.so maybe that helps.but also you get minerals from foods I think.

I have used water filters for about 15 years because our tap water tastes disgusting in the summer (ruins the tea )

I never had hayfever until about 6 years ago and now it triggers my asthma, still using filtered water.

So its made no difference to me.

Hi Simon,I’ve used bottled water and water filtration systems myself before too.but this is a counter top distillation unit with extraction fan and voc filter.its a different league.

That's very interesting! Great you're seeing this improvement. See if you can find some research group with an interest in not yet identified allergens? Since my asthma is theoretically the non-allergic type, I'm aways interested in studies that mention that not yet identified triggers might perhaps play a role in some cases.

One other thought is that the water can be contaminated with other things as it travels down pipes and out of taps. In some areas old pipes are made of lead. So that would need to be taken into account.

i don't see how filtered water cures hay fever... but im glad it's seemed to help

Me neither.but for some strange reason it has.and I was one if the worst sufferers.so I feel the need to spread the news in case it can help other severe sufferers.

Sounds exciting Wallsg7. You must be extremely happy. When I moved to Reverse osmosis filtered water, I noticed that I could drink a lot more water and wanted more water. When I went back to normal tap water I noticed that my body couldn't take a lot and reduced my "feeling of well-being" - no specific words but just generally not so good. I realised that where I live the water is heavily chlorinated and that the chlorine had been affecting me all my life. My allergies didn't totally go away like yours but we are all different. However, I did feel stronger health-wise.

Hi Gary, I'm not surprised at your discovery as there are quite a few practitioners who have made the conclusion that water is the cure for everything & why we have become so dependant on spring water. Tap water often contains additives because it is recycled so much. We're living in a different era with high population now & while water was the one thing that was completely pure once, is no longer. Many practitioners think that we have become dehydrated generally because of what has already been added to water & what we ourselves add. Water is the key to anything containing liquid & of vital importance to our health & we definitely should be drinking more of it.
