my name is David Jacobs I'm 70 years old and have suffered with copd/emphysema for many years. I have also had two episodes of pneumothorax {collapsed lung} which unfortunaytely I have never quite recovered completely from despite surgical intervention in 2001/2002. For the past 10 years i have been on umpteen medications but nothing is really helping...I can now not even walk from room room to room in my flat...totally exhausted, breathless and feel like i'm ready to die.

Hi sorry to hear this. A better place for you to post this would be The British Lung Foundation also on here. Most on this site have only asthma. You will get more help and understanding on BLF. x

You are more than welcome. There are a few on here who do suffer from both asthma and copd and I am one but as I am fairly mild can't really relate to your suffering much.

On BLF you will find ones like me right through to those with FEV1's in their teens and they will share anything which works for them and might be able to help you. Above all they will say don't give up please. x
