Do you get Asthma or Chest Congestion Symtoms after you eat? Just curious if anyone else is having the same issue and trying to narrow it down on what's causing it. Any input will help.

Do you get Asthma or Chest Congestion Symtoms after you eat?
I get severe heartburn after I eat which then triggers my asthma.
I always need to cough after eating, quite often a sharp cough. It was worse during a recent asthma flare up. And before starting with a steroid inhaler it was quite bad.
Try taking Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, it is a well known old fashioned cure for acid reflux. Hubby last night had acid reflux and it gave him a bit of asthma, he had throat congestion and irritation, no doubt down to rich Christmas foods, I got him to reluctantly take half a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in half glass of water and it sorted the problem quickly. Also many take it just before eating a meal, it helps you break down and absorb food better and also get more nutrition out of the food.
Yes. I have silent reflux (amongst other things) and this triggers uncontrollable coughing. There is some research linking reflux/asthma/lung infection and lung disease (I also have brochiectasis) but no cause or effect. I resisted treatment for ages because I just don’t get the heartburn or other gastro symptoms but since taking omeprazole my attacks have all but gone. Ask your GP. There are tests that can prove it (not entirely pleasant but worth it) or not and at least it removes one suspect.
