Hi all, I'm new to this forum. I'm asthmatic and have been having recurring chest infections (pneumonia) several times this year. I recently got discharged from the hospital for pneumonia, and got re-admitted a few days later as both of my lungs collapsed. It's been 5 days since I left the hospital, and I've been constantly coughing/wheezing, really struggling to breathe, my ribs/chest hurt, and my peak flows are in the yellow zone. I have been feeling too weak to do my work and go for lectures. I also feel I'm unable to get most of the air/mucus out of my lungs. Do you think it will get better or if I may have to go back to the hospital?

Really struggling
Hi, welcome to the forum. Everybody is different as are recovery periods, if you are continuing to struggle I would strongly recommend seeking some more medical advice and assistance. With the correct care, attention and advice the chances are that you will be ok but it is far better to seek help sooner rather than leaving things to get worse.
It sounds as though you are having things pretty rough at the minute.
Hi Amberlyn21
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you've been unwell and in hospital. Recovery can take some time so it's important to give your body time to rest. there's some information about how long it takes to get back to normal here: nhs.uk/conditions/pneumonia...
As suggested on the thread already, do book a urgent appointment with your GP and a reminder of what symptoms mean an asthma attack and what to do: bit.ly/2i0DBm1
Hope that helps,
Dita
