Hi, lovely people, my name is Karen and although I've been poorly for almost a year my consultant 'thinks' I have Asthma, so looking for advice, I'm currently on the blue inhaler and waiting for a Nexthaler to arrive any day! So glad I found this forum!
Newbie! : Hi, lovely people, my name is... - Asthma Community ...
Newbie!
Welcome! I'll be honest 'Nexthaler' was a new one on me, but Dr. Google tells me that it's used to dispense fostair, which is a descendant of something called becotide (beclomethasone something-or-other) with an added long-term reliever. It's a very well tried & tested preventer drug which will hopefully improve your symptoms.
By all means, let us know if you have any questions or worries about asthma generally or your medication. I don't use fostair but umpteen people on here do & will be able to support you in how to use it or get the most out of it.
Thank you so much Minushabens, I don't know a thing about Asthma really so any help is greatly appreciated!
I'm surprised I wasn't given an inhaler sooner really as I've suffered a great deal since last September its Mold in my flat that set me off last September, my GP referred me to the Lung centre and it's has taken all these months to get diagnosed so feeling a bit fed up, to be honest!
I was given a letter to hand to my GP on Tuesday for my Nexthaler, GP will pass the prescription to the chemist then they will deliver some time next week, in the meantime, I just have my blue inhaler, also I'm using a Himalayan salt inhaler which helps to calm me!
Hiya Mishubens, Just to, let you know I ended up in Stepping Hill Hospital last Wed around 3am (Resus for 12 hours as they couldn't stabalize me) it was SO scary, anyway I was moved eventually to AMU, then the chest ward where I have been well looked after,, hopefully I, will be home the middle of the week! Hope you're OK, not been on, line much as theres no wifi in, here so my, data is being used ! Love and hugs Karen XXX
