Feeling really rough
Hi if it is a chest infection then there is no substitute for ab's I'm afraid. What is pirotron? A good guide if you aren't bringing anything up is do you feel ill? Do you have a temperature?
If you have a rescue pack then it's probably better to use it as it's best to be safe than sorry. x
If you normal peak flow is 350 and is now 250 and is not improving, then you need to see the GP to get a course of steroids started if you haven't got any at home. I assume you are using your reliever inhaler more than normal? How much? What does your Asthma Plan say? It certainly sounds like you are fighting either a viral or bacterial Infection. Antibiotics won't help with a virus, but the steroids would help get your Asthma back under control. Antibiotics will help if it is a bacterial infections. Get yourself to the GP today. If you don't want to do that, then at least go and talk to a Pharmacist (who is likely to tell you to see GP, preferably today).
I think you mean Piriton, which is an antihistamine that would help to dry you up if you have a streaming nose, or if you are reacting to an allergy, but it won't help with an infection.
What is a rescue pack I ended up to the hospital at 3-30 am because I had bad pains under rib I was put on a nebuliser because my oxygen level was low and blood pressure raised I have a chest infection left with antibiotics and steroids no work for next couple days .
Can I suggest that next time you don't leave it so long. You need to monitor your peak flow on a daily basis, and if it starts to go down, and continues down despite using your reliever, then you need to be seeing the doctor for steroids and antibiotics if necessary. Do you have an Asthma Action Plan?
A rescue pack is a pack of oral steroids and antibiotics which is given to some people with Severe Brittle Asthma to keep at home for an emergency, so that if their Asthma gets bad, they can start them straight away.
Don't rush back to work, your lungs need time to recover.
