Hi. Im a mum of a 3 yr old little boy who has acute asthma. We are just home from hospital admission. He goes downhill v quickly. Does anyone use an oximeter at home with themselves or little ones? He's too young for a peak flow tester. If so, which ones are good? Many thanks xx

Oximeter?
Hi. My grandson has asthma and he can go down hill very quickly as well. I have been asthmatic all my life and have very brittle asthma with a lot of allergies. My grandson is 5 now and we both have our own oximeter. we both got ours on line. When they are little you can take reading on there tumb I take mine on my longest finger. I use peak flow meter but my grandson doesn't. They sell oximeters in Argos as well. Best wishes xx
I forgot to say ours is Choice MMed I got them from medisense.
Thanks so very much. Really helpful. Xxx
I have an oximeter (my GP said to get one). I bought mine from Evergreen Nebulisers.
Hi
I use one of these (this is NOT an affiliate link) I don't get paid anything.
The same company sell a children's model I think, but it's cheaper and I'm not sure if it's as good / accurate as the one I've linked too below.
However, a children's model may suit smaller fingers better. Maybe check direct with the Seller or Manufacturer.
Also make sure you have the right info on what Reading Level is appropriate for deciding you have an emergency on your hands. That Reading Level may be different for kids than adults. For most adult sufferers, 92 or Less is a worry - even though some folk tell you not to worry until 90 or below. Kids may be different though.
Thank you all SO much for your replies and feedback. Have looked at all of your suggestions. So trickey to know which one to get. Does anyone know which make they use on childrens wards? I meant to look when we were there. Thanks again and in advance xx
