Hello there...has anyone like me been on steroid inhalers for 25+ years for their asthma? Just wondered if it's caused you any other medical problems...particularly adrenal problems? Many thanks ☺

Long term use of Beclomethasone dipropionate steroid inhaler
I think I'm up to near enough 30 years now on steroid inhalers (plus 20 or so beforehand on various medications). I have no doubt that long-term use carries some problems & I've had various things although no particular adrenal issues. I wouldn't rule it out though & others might have had problems.
I've been on them for nearly thirty years - no real problems yet, other than occasional issues with my voice (I use an accuhaler). I've not even had oral thrush. A bout of oesophageal thrush was blamed on my inhalers a couple of years ago by one doctor (a gastroenterologist), but given the absence of thrush in my mouth and pharynx a consultant in respiratory medicine thought that unlikely. No sign of adrenal problems yet. I do have possible GORD, but that is currently under investigation.
20 years plus. I have adrenal insufficiency but that's due to the oral steroids
I also have been on various steroid inhalers for about twenty years and have had no extra medical problems, when I changed to my latest I had a sore throat and a hoarse voice but that was an unfortunate coincidence. On balance they have given me twenty years of life and noisy grandchildren.
I've been on steroid inhalers for 22yrs and have had no other problems
Thanks for your replies everyone x
