One for the ladies
I have found this happening with my asthma over the past year. I was having to up steroids every month. I went to doctor and had a moan (very good at this when hormones involved 😄). They put me on a progesterone only pill called cerelle. And I can honestly say I haven't had to increase steroids even once since. I still occasionally get a bit wheezy. But nothing like it was. I do hope you find a solution soon xxxx
Know that feeling. There is lots of evidence that females can be estrogen sensitive with a small number progesterone sensitive. I would discuss with your GP or asthma consultant.Harder to manage if menopausal but worth a try
I always found that if I was going to have an exacerbation it would be around this time too. At least you know when your trigger times are so youknowwhen to up your dosage. Talk to your asthma nurse or better still your consultant. Other people must get this so there must be things that can help - -as per the other two answers here.
Good Luck
Me too, though I probably have milder asthma. My asthma plays up on the day before to the 3 or 4 day of my period. A little extra ventolin helps me along. It's not a major problem for me but a bit of a pain xx
I also have this problem. I spoke to my respiratory consuant about it yesterday and he gave it a fancy name. He has recommend I go on sort of contraceptive to try and smooth out my hormone to se if that makes a difference but need to go see my go about it!
I had symptoms too during the day and during my period. I quiet dont know what to do since I have a symbicort maintenace. I had difficulty breathing. Did you use your reliever inhaler? I have mine salbutamol ventolin. But I didnt used it hahaha but after my period the symptoms wer gone
