Have been asthmatic since 1999 and as part of my plan took anti histamnes.... Now my doctor has taken me off them as they say these should not be used as part of asthma package. To say I am worried is an understatement. Would appreciate your feedback please

Anti histamines
I have inhalers for asthma and a daily anti histamine plus nasal inhaler for allergic rhinitis. It just helps to keep the membranes from reacting too much. You probably need to have another chat with the doc to ask his reasons so as not to worry. Do you know what sets your asthma off? Cold temps, exercise, allergy.....? If allergy then anti h can be useful but maybe yours is different and anti hs aren't useful. If you know your triggers then it's easier to understand the treatment plan.
Your doctor is just plain wrong! Asthma (for most people) is an allergic condition, so it's essential to avoid your allergens. Have you had allergy tests to establish what your allergens are? If not, I suggest you request that. Some allergens are unavoidable, such as grass pollen, in which case you need to be on antihistamines for at least the grass pollen season. I was on antihistamines 365 days per year for several years until I started on Xolair, which acts on the part of the immune system that over reacts to allergens before it even starts. I would talk to your GP again or ask to be referred to a respiratory specialist.
Thank for your replies at least I feel that I am not alone. This is day 4 of no anti histamine been sneezing coughing etc. Haven't had allergy tests but perfume Polish cigarette smoke grass hot and cold weather thunderstorms some dogs are main triggers along with stress....... seems docs think they know what's best but it's my body and I know it better than they do.
