I was diagnosed with asthma as a baby after suffering a severe attack and ending up in hospital. However, I have never had an attack since and although I have oral steroids I have not used them for well over a year. I am inclined to think that I do not have asthma and that something else caused my reaction. Is anyone else going through something similar?

Might be a good idea to phone the helpline or your docs for advice, sorry I cannot help
It's very hard to say really, but be aware that asthma can be latent in people (non-scientific term!!) & then suddenly be triggered.
However if you are leading a normal life, having no symptoms without any medication then probably all is well.
Just be aware though that you might get something trigger it again in later life & make sure if that does happen that you get attention quickly.
I have allergic asthma and it is definitely worse at certain times of the year when the pollen is high. Also I cannot be in the house when my husband is painting as this can set my asthma off. There are many different types of asthma but I believe some children can grow out of asthma - so I am told.
