Is there a reason why you specifically think it might be PH? What is your doctor saying & more importantly what are they doing?

I don't really know much about it. It was mentioned as a possibility to me a while ago so I read a bit on it but then ruled out. You could try posting the message on the British Lung Foundation forum on HU as you might find someone else who has it & can advise better, or ring their helpline.

I hope you get it sorted whatever it is.

Can't add to what minushabens has said. A good suggestion to try the BLF Forum on here or telephone the BLF re are BLF nurses there to answer your questions during normal office hours Monday to Friday.

Hope you get some good advice soon.

Love and hugs

See your doctor post haste. Can be a warning sign that you have a blood clot in the lungs amongst other things.

Doctors have the equipment to check these out. Us on the forum have not.

Hello my name is Hayley. Back in 09 my husband had a Hip Replacement. When he came back from surgery, he was ill being sick, going hot and cold, heartbeat went down to 49 , they tried to find a silver blanket , no luck so they wrapped him in blankets like a mummy because he was going cold. Then he was in for 5 days , on the Friday he was due to come home, he was in bed when I got to the hospital and was told to have bed rest. So I said to him I needed him to walk before I took him home. So i pulled back the sheet and his leg was RED. I said to him he needed to walk before I took him home, and I spoke to the nurs and she was shocked they did not know. WITHIN seconds se had a doctor there makin with a marker where the leg was red. They kept him in for another 2 days and put him on antibiotics and sent him home with clexaine injection for a month. On the 27 December he finished his injections. On the 31st of December at 2pm he woke up with a sharp pain in his back, I asked him he if he was ok and he said yes. Then on the 1st Jan 2010 at 12.30 he said to me just get me to hospital, where he was diagnosed with BLOODCLOTS and CLASPED LUNG. And was on a ward within 30 mins and put on a oxygen mask for 4days. When he came home he was still extremely breathless whenever he did anything. So we went back to the doctor who referred him to the chest clinic. The doctor he was under for 4 yeas said he know there was something wrong but couldn't find out what it was. So he got a second opoinon. Who did a test where they put the tube up throw your artery. He said that my husbands heart was damaged at the bottom and he had water around his heart and this was JUNE 15 when they found this . Then they sent him a letter saying he had pulmonary hypertension and discharged him, and told him to see his doctor for water tablets. But before all this happened we had our own driving business and he was told 6 weeks after his op that he would have to give it up. Since then he has had depression because we lost everything even our bungalow. I don't understand how someone so fit who could walk 15 miles even though he was in pain,he could dance and swim. NOW he's been left with nothing, he even had to go to a tribunal to get his DLA. He's on more painkillers and pain patches then he's ever been.

I'm really sorry for this long letter but I think something went wrong in the op because he is Epileptic and Dibetic . Has any one else had problems like this it horrible when you see someone go in for a op and come out someone totally different person.
