A simple tip to stop you eating food that is not good for you is to read the food labels, and ask if you want to put that muck in your body, then hopefully you will only eat fresh not processed food. I have recently had to cut out several food groups and now I just do not want cakes biscuits etc. Hopefully this will reduce your wanting to eat, but if you crave a certain food just have that food one day a week no binging on it, as if you deprive yourself you will want it more than ever.. If you stick to healthy eating you should loose wait.. Gentle exercise should also help. Do not feel guilty or upset about your weight but loose if for yourself not to please others good luck :-) :-) :-)

1) Prior to going shopping make a list of meals for the week and only buy what you need for those meals - nothing extra. If you don't have biscuits/cakes/crisps to eat in the cupboards you won't be tempted to snack. 2) Use smaller plates for your meals, so your plate will look full but actually contain less. 3). I don't know what you usually drink with your meals, but in general I recommend you drink water whenever you can rather than canned drinks. 4) When you buy milk, go for semi skimmed. Tastes OK, but has much less fat content. 5) as starveycat says, read the labels of whatever you are buying, and bear in mind that anything with added sugar will put on the pounds as well. 6) Use your car or public transport less and walk more whenever you can. Start with short distances, your body needs to get used to more exercise, but as it adjusts increase the distance.

Hope this helps

Joining a slimming group may seem daunting but the advice and support you get is invaluable . Everyone there has a joint purpose and they dont judge . Dont think of it as DIETING - its a HEALTHY LIVING PLAN.

Make sure you don't overdo it on the protein front - might be worth cutting down as it can be stored as body fat if you eat too much. Here is an article on the mis-conception of eating too much protein: healthyeating.sfgate.com/mu...

My advice to you would be to consider using a fitness & food app to track your food and exercise that will give you an idea of how much to eat each day and how much exercise will burn off the extra calories.

You may want to eat smaller meals and snack between meals to keep your hunger at bay if you feel constantly hungry. Regularly drink water as well to ensure your hunger isn't thirst (your body will thank you).

Look into making healthier options of meals that you like (something as simple as grilling meat rather than frying or creating lower calorie options of your favourite foods could help greatly).

I agree with the issue and most of the advice. I lost weight to prepare for an operation a few years ago. I cut out the 5 foods I regularly consumed that were the most fatty (things like chips, cheese, chocolate, peanut butter), boosted my fruit and veg, maintained physical activity in a busy job and treated myself once a week to a nice walk to a place that sold fresh samosas and pakoras. I lost about 3 stones out of 12 over the course of 9 months. Over the last few years I have gradually piled on the pounds, less active and eating more, and found that I now craved the things that I know are less healthy. Recently I started some medication to address a very bad skin condition, which has worked marvellously. Unfortunately it has the side effect of increasing my cholesterol levels, presenting the risk of cardiac disease. Since I am the one who goes shopping and does cooking in my family, I am responsible for what I buy to eat, and I am going to have to buy the sensible stuff and stay away from the rest. I know quite a few people who have used a wrist device to maintain activity and balance calories in with calories out an they have achieved great results
