Consultant appointment what happens
Hi!
In my first appointment the only thing we did was to go through my history and get sent for some tests and thats it got another appointment later on not very much nor drastic
Yeah, they'll discuss your exact symptoms, exact presentation, medical hisotry, diagnosis, they'll be asking questions to see if it really is asthma or if its something else. They'll book a load of tests and very occasionally will do a really simplew change (often your preventor inhalers can be shuffled around on the first appt) and then you'll see them again once they have all the tests to make a plan!
Just had one talking only
Cough main symptom reg dosnt think coughing is a asthma synptom
as i dont wheze
so using ventolin only is ok
Thanks. I've been a bit of a mess for the past 4/5 months starting with pneumonia which seems to have kicked off asthma in a severity to which I've never had before. I used to be fine with just ventolin didn't need even a preventer. Since the pneumonia I've had multiple exacerbations requiring hospital treatment and repeated courses of steroids and antibiotics. I get breathless very easily and more and more things seem to trigger it. I'm now on ventolin, symbicort and very recent addition of singulair as well as now pred and antibiotics as currently also have got pleurisy feel a bit down about it all. Don't know why it's got to the extent it has and I'm fed up of feeling like an old person after doing a simple task like climbing stairs. I know a lot of people are a lot worse off than me. So don't mean to be moany!! My doctor is not in doubt that I do have asthma and the consultant I met when I was admitted the first time also has confirmed it. Just hoping a specialist might be able to get me back to where I was? Or do you think the pneumonia has permanently damaged my lungs? I've gone 3 weeks without being back on to a course of pred and antibiotics. I'm on 80mg for 7 days then tapering dose this time. Not good to be right back to square 1 again
