Increased anxiety....

Hi all

Had to go back to the doctors as I still had the horrible cough/ cold/ flu bug that's going about. The doctor has given me steroids for 5 days, clarithromycin 500mg twice a day for a week. The problem is my anxiety (which I do suffer from anyway) has gone through the roof, fast heart, trembling hands. Is this the meds? Or is just me being over anxious over being ill and taking these meds? Can anyone relate?

Sorry to hear youre going through such a rough patch at the mo.

Forhe fast heartate and the shakes these are common side effects of some asthma medicines. It might be te reliever or possibly the steroids. Reliever (ventolin) often gives people the shakes and palpitations. So maybe because you have upped your use?

Also oral steroids can make people hyper so maybe this is having a detrimental effwct on the anxiety?
