Sometimes i do, it is common to get it more during that time because of hormonal effects. I would say just stick to your treatments, for me when i find that i am out of control i increase my dosage.

Hi guys,

you may find info on the Gender thread interesting ;-)

Hi Katie lou

it is recognised that asthma can get worse around the time of the month- I got so sick of being asked that by my (slightly embarrassed by the concept) male consultant!

Some people find that going on the pill can make a big difference to hormonal asthma - you can even run several packets together so you don't have a period induced blip. Some of the other hormonal contraceptives I think can be used too - it is certainly worth speaking to your chest consultant or GP about.

Bumped for ST.

i find taking calpol when that happens helps and taking a extra dose of my inhaler works

Hi i also suffer with my astham at the time of the month. I can not go on the pill as I am a high risk for dvt's due to my mothers medical history so my comsultant has just cahnged my inhaler for seretide to symbicort to see if that helps!!! If that doesnt help then it will be a referal to a gynaecologist!!!
