Trials of Botox for Asthma in Australia started.

ABC news today report of new trial in Melbourne with Monash Medical Centre of injecting Botox

into the vocal cords.

Reports states that Asthma can constrict a person voice box, muscles that have developed a disfunctional behaviour can be restarted after the effect wears off, therefore starting the correct

order again.

the trial will initially target older people and run for 1 year.

Sounds like more a treatment for vocal cord dysfunction a condition of itself thats becomeing more well known here and is more common in asthmatics. Botox has been used to treat it for a number of years in the USA but over here they prefer the Speech and Language thearpy

I thought it sounded more like a treatment for VCD!

You forget that Botox does have some good medical uses not just cosmetic ones. My friend had botox for her squint, not that it worked very well.
