does anyone suffer from acid reflux and if you do can you have chewing gum/. i have been having chewing gum for last wk to help with diet lost 1 stone 3 whoop whoop. but on tuesday woke up with really bad back ache on bra line, for next couple of hrs all i did wake burp. do you think its linked, pain has gone now but still a bit gassy xxxxx

Jilly, I have always understood chewing gum to be hard to digest. I used to eat lots when I was doing exams and it gave me tummy ache. Well done on losing over a stone - I wish I could!

chewing makes your tummy think food is coming - so it gets ready and makes acid to aid digestion this is how it was explained to me...and if that acid has nothing to digest it can cause indigestion.
