hi Glynis
I wonder where all this mucus orginates, I get it from my chest, nose and throat areas. I can't believe how much comes out. I think asthma causes it but i am no expert.

Could it be sinusitis? Have had allergic for years and infection since Christmas (sorry if bit gross but colour can tell the difference, white/clear vs yellow/green). Have a lot down throat esp in mornings. GP and asthma nurse convinced it's not helping asthma ? one airway disease they called it. I rarely cough up anything either. Do your tablets for mucus help? Never tried them so might be useful.
yes they do help and can up them if need take more but just wandered why swallow it and not
on chest.
MY Nose is always dry and hardly runs ever xxx
Sorry didn't say my nose generally fine and never runs either. Always down back of throat aka post nasal drip. Sinuses generally sore & often feels like eyes been squeezed, you know if you have it like this. Think swallowing must be an automatic response to mucus in back of throat
Welcome to yet another glamorous side of asthma
I get sinusitis occasionally average 4 times per year.
I dont take tabs for it though.
It usually lasts a few days, bit painful dry nose, not noticed mucus swallowing though.
Lucky for me, i get feeling. like a nosebleed, but not blood, more like watery snot comes down nose & immediaye relief.
I was told its sinus clearing.
glynis - im the same as you know and take carbo for it-the only diff being that my nose constantly runs. ive no idea if its anything else other than asthma so im interested in the replies here xxx
