Hi and welcome! Like Jay says, lots of helpful information and nice people here, I've found it great and really useful. Hope your asthma nurse was wrong or at least that you get things under control before winter.

Hi there, welcome to the forum. Maybe now that you've been diagnosed and on meds you will be able to gain some control before winter. If you're taking a preventer then hopefully it will have built up it's protective effect by then. I am fairly new to all this myself and am certainly hoping that this is the case for me too! Take care, look forward to 'seeing' you around. x
Hello, make sure you have all the relevant tests that you need, allergy, and find your triggers - that way you can avoid these and things wont be so bad. Winter is always a testing time for any asthmatic, but with a good GP/nurse you will be able to manage through and not even notice your asthma - unfortunately we are more prone to colds/flu so make sure you get your flu jab and wear layers, scarf's esp - also as much as everyone loves a party rest is needed more in winter to build up strength and immunity. Also if you work in an office make sure you anti-bac your desk, my place is awful for colds being passed from person to person, i anti-bac each morning, and never lend any of my stuff out - i am abit of a clean freak so i always have hand sanitizer on me, but it stops me getting ill. You may have to change some of your life style, but it will only help you. be ready for anything, and if you are ever worried go see your GP - or talk to us on here! Good luck!
