Respiratory consultants in North West

I am looking at reloacating to the north west (wirral) i was wondering if there are any good consultants or hospitals in this area for severe asthma? or where would my nearest be?

Hi Plumie, You could always ring a couple of GP surgery's on the Wirral and interview their Asthma nurses to find out if the Hospitals in the area are any good. The Countess of Chester is not a bad Costa but I would check them out. Most of the ""experts"" seem to be based around Central Manchester. The cons I will be visiting on the 16th May is based at Fairfield Costa in Bury. Why move from West Yorks to the other side of the Hill? I moved from that area to the hilly border just the other side of Yorks into East Lancs.

I believe Wythenshawe hospital in Manchester would be the nearest specialist difficult asthma clinic. It's led by a consultant called Dr Rob Niven.

i am looking into moving to be closer to family so care needs as the government and my local council are trying to take all my home care away and without it i would just end up living in hospital.

I am not particularly looking for a specialist place just if any one knows of any good hospitals or consultants in the area. Asthma nurses are no good for me it has to be respiratory nurses as i am off th scale of what an asthma nurse is allowed to treat from a Gp surgery. Most Gps will not treat me they just send me to hospital even if all i require is a repeat prescription it can be mega annoying!
