so down just been layed off cos of sickness levels.

Went to go back to work today after being on sick for 17 days, 10 days which were spent in hospital, only to be told that they have gave me one weeks notice then i am out of a job.

I only been in the job for 9 month, but how can they do this, i was upfront with them when i started the job and told them i had moderate asthma, but this has been progressively getting worse this year and i have had 3 hospital admissions since may plus a few visits to A & E were just had nebs and released.

I am so down about this , i just dont know what to do anymore.

Sorry for the rant just need to shout and scream about it.

If u declared before the job then they cant sac u for it...it is classed as unfair dismissal...contact the trade union asap as the company can get into a lot of trouble for it...especially if they havnt adjusted the sickness policy for your needs before this decision was made!!!

they can sack you for sickness however number of things first... firstly reasonable adjustments ie working hours, envornoments.... 2ndly check the policy first might have to have warnings first but depends on the company
