I have got my first Royal Brompton Hospital appointment later this month. I'm a little apprehensive about this but that is because I don't know what happens on the first appointment.
Good news: I have got my first Royal... - Asthma Community ...
Good news
Hi Asthmagirl,
So glad you have the appt, really crossing fingers they can help as they seem to have done wonders for some people on here.
The letter's not very informative, is it? I'm also wondering what they do, but mine says allow at least half a day for tests etc. I think it varies what they do, guessing you'd have more tests than me and maybe be there longer. Might be more on the website if you haven't looked? I know there's a post on here about the 'protocol' but nothing about the first appt though I asked this question a while ago so might be something there if you search - can't remember the specific name of the post but was around the beginning/middle of Feb I think.
Let us know how you get on. I'll be especially interested!
That is good news and about time after all you've been through. Good luck, hope it goes well. xx
Great news Asthma girl.Wont be long and hope some answers for you xxx
Hi asthmagirl
My first appointment was just what you would expect from a hospital appointment. I had a chest X-ray and a chat with the cons. He asks questions it was nothing awful.
I then was admitted a few weeks later for a week which is fine. Fairly laid back just lots of tests etc. Staff are all lovely.
Don't worry, you'll be fine.

Bumped up the post you referred to Philomela.
I am also waiting for first RBH appt in May, there are a few of us now.
Let us know how you get on?
Very positive news and after all the problems your lungs have given you I hope this is the start of better times.
