Hi Sikazmill and welcome to the forum!

I'd go back to your GP and discuss the options - if exercise is a trigger (and it's my main one) there are several geared towards it, such as montelukast (Singulair). That is an add-on therapy to be taken alongside your usual preventer rather than an alternative but if your current preventer isn't controlling your asthma your GP ought to be reviewing things anyway and might want to add something else - definitely worth a discussion and you mentioning about wanting to exercise more. They should love you asking, I'm always being told to exercise even when I find it really hard and have no proper control!

Before you go to your appt, it might also be worth ringing the asthma nurses on here (top left) and asking them about it - they may know more about the possibilities than your GP and it will mean you go in to your appt knowing more about what the options are and with some expert advice behind you. I've generally found the nurses here really helpful to talk to.

Good luck and hope you get somewhere with your question!

Hi and welcome to the forum. As Philomela says it's best to discuss your meds with your GP or asthma nurse. There's a lot of useful info on All about Asthma at the top of this page. With regard to exercise, every one is different - best to build up gradually.
