chest physiotheraphy

Hi

Has anyone been to chest physiotheraphy? What exactly happens as a result does this drastically help with asthma?

I'm thinking to ask for a referral from the hospital appointment I have coming up, can this be done under the NHS?

Hi,

I had this, and it did help a little from day to day but when in a attack, it has helped greatly, I now know how to control my breathing better when my chest is tight, so I would recommend it!

Hi lindsay, thanks for letting me know I'm googling for anything that might help me and stop the deterioration process!

Its either nag my doctors again for this referral or try a salt cave in the meantime! Thanks s

I was taught the ACBT physiotherapy technique for whne I have a chest infection which I find really helpful. Also use saline nebs to break the rubbish down and a flutter valve to help loosen the stuff thats there.

I have it as part of my package and they are pretty good! They seem to help with settling me when I am coming out of an attack rather than when I am in it full blown. If you ask your resp consultant or resp nurse they can put you on to them

slightly unrelated question - but i've had a brain wave mid depression mode!

does anyone know of any asthma retreat places. I mean like say the weight loss camps that are available. I had a brilliant idea pop into my head and started googling to see if this exists and it doesnt. How has no one created an asthma retreat or a leisure facility that offers this - can you imagine how much money that could generate? Does a retreat place exist like the weight loss place the nearest thing i found was the karuna detox holiday (karunadetox.com) there has to be one in the UK?

See i spoke to my gp (not seen the consultant yet) about chest physiotherapy he said that sound brilliant but that this is best done via nhs/medical based area. Only place I see is private gyms and that sounds bad for me and my mulitple chest issues!
