Products made of seagrass

Hi

I bought a laundry basket yesterday made of seagrass and put it in my bedroom, replacing the old one. I woke at about 0500 this morning having an asthma attack, scary as I can't remember the last time I had an attack and my asthma is normally mild. The smell of the seagrass also made me feel sick. Has anyone got any information about any possible effects of seagrass or experienced any reaction to the smell or any products made of seagrass. I was concerned enough to register as I was worried this may affect others and particularly young children.

I removed the basket to a closed room and this helped, I will also exchange the basket for one made of different material, a pity as it was both useful and looked good.
