Sensitive to Dorking summer pollens?

Hi

my very bad childhood asthma ostensibly sensitive to house dust was significantly relieved at the age of 11 when I had my tonsils removed. Following this, and although still sensitive to house dust ensuing bouts of shortening of breath was far less dramatic and more manageable using 'puffers'. So broadly I seemed to be getting a lot better!

However In the last 15 years since moving to rural Surrey (near Dorking) I have suffered between July and October with significant shortening of breath, almost stertorous. According to the pollen calendar at pollenuk.co.uk/aero/pm/cale..., the pollens which peak-release at or around this time are Grass, Plantain, Lime, Nettle and dock.

For me this discomfort is back to the bad old days and is serious enough to make me consider moving from the area if I could obtain enough evidence of the cause and effect.

So, I wonder is anyone reading this either experiencing the same or knowledgeable about the cause and effect process?

thank you

Hi Chalky,

Sorry to hear you've been suffering. I don't know if I can really shed any light but I have heard of people being allergic to pollen in other countries but not here. I don't know if there is any truth in this but if there is then maybe it's possible to be more sensitive to pollen in certain areas? I might be clutching at straws though! Anyway, hope you're feeling better soon.
