my mother in law kept getting it and was her circulation and needed a opp,so would advise you ask for a scan to check.she had a year of meds and did not help.if you can ask for Ultrasound scan just to make sure or a test with wires to check pulse in ankles.

Good luck I know what you are going through and the pain xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

ps.she had a rough time and hers was severe and in her foot xxx

Hi there

I'm reeling this off from memory, and I'm feeling a bit spaced after being in hospital yesterday and home-nebbing today so here goes: Cellulitis can be both recurrent and a one-off condition, and as Glynis said, the extent/severity can be tested with ultrasound scanning. If it severe, it can be drained during an operation. I'm thinking it *might* be a build up of infected intracellular fluid - I need help from a medic on this one! Do the antibiotics help? Just remember to finish an entire course, though I;m sure you know this already.

Sorry it's not much, and was pretty much what Glynis said - I'm really not with it today!

Oh poor you. I have had cellulitis a few times, in my legs and my arm after insect bites which I have been allergic to. Also had it after the flu jab a few years ago - again due to an allergic reaction. Not sure whether yours has a specific cause?

I think it can be either recurrent and one-off. Mine are specifically caused by allergic reactions and respond well to antibiotics (although last time i had to have 4 different kinds over 3 weeks).

I hope things resolve for you.
