weak and achy muscles....

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had any advice on how to cope with weak and achy muscles (I'm assuming from the pred)?

My arms, legs and neck feel really weak and achy, its becoming a bit of an effort to lift my legs up fully to take a step and generally just feels weird.

I'd appreciate any suggestions :-)

p.s. Seeing consultant next week so not asking for medical advise, just how people manage these symptoms.

Hello!

How long have you been taking pred and what dose?

Kate

Hi kate! :-)

I've been on 40mg almost permanently since the beginning of January with the odd few days here and there at a reduced dose then have a bad attack and back up to 40 mg again.

I also had lots of doses in 2011 but not non stop like now.

I have this also and get massivly frustrated with myself as simple tasks like doing my hair can be a struggle most days...in response for coping eith it i guess persaversnce (sorry cant spell) i just keep pushing myself and dont give up...i figured if i gave up because my arms ached etc my muscles would just become even weaker and it would be even more troublesome for me!!!

Thanks Charlie, at least its not just me being odd!!

It is frustrating, I'm having problems holding a full glass of squash as the weight is too much for my arms at themoment.

Never had this before so I guess I just need to get my head around it.
