spirometry ......help

I have just got my sprirometry test results. Does anybody know how to interpret them? I have asked my GP but she doesnt know ..... I think its time I changed GPs .the results 69% of predicted . fev1 1.7

Of course he knows just couldn't be bothered to explain I suppose. FEV1 is the measurement of how much air you can expel from your lungs in the first second of breathing out. It can help tell whether your breathing is obstructed by narrowing of the airways. Your result is 69% of the expected level for someone of your height, age and gender with healthy lungs
