Medication similar to xolair

Saw my consultant today, but have had ""brain fry"" and cannot remember the name of one of the drugs he mentioned. The drug is supposed to be similar to xolair and is due for drugs trial in the next year approx... Has anyone any ideas of the name.... As wanting to look it up... Thanks

Mepolizumab is currently in trial stages, similar to xolair as it's also a monoclonal anibody - was hat the one you're looking for?

Thank you for your reply I think that was the one (name sounds familiar)... I will be looking it up shortly.

Out of interest has anyone had to get named patient funding from their PCT for xolair... if they have roughly how long does the process take (I am already assuming it will be a long drawn out process)?

I have to admit in this current financial climate I was not holding my breath with the funding, but you have to try these things... Its bad when you have to wait 12 months to be told its a no go situation. Glad your consultant was on the ball with other options...
