Oh, I expect Simon knows what he is about. he is a very shrewd character and hasn't got where he is by being daft. As the saying has it - the people are governed by the government they deserve. Should Jedward win, its only down to all those who have voted for them. Hence Simon leaves it to the public vote on this occasion in the hope that we all vote for everyone else from now on.
If we all felt that strongly about what is a piece of Fluff and not, in fact, Life - then maybe we'd all be voting in our thousands for the other finalists or voting with our feet and going out for the night resulting in no-one left watching telly. Hey ho.
