My son's school is closed today. Actually we dont mind too much because he isnt feeling well (wheezing, tight etc) so at least he can have a quiet day and not worry about struggling at school!

it's always helpful when days happen like that isn't it.

when DD1 started school they had snow the week after she began and she was ill. instead of sick days that would count towards her abscence % she got snow days which were unavoidable. (of course so was being ill, but yanno!)

Didn't strike today but head and deputy head decided last week that I needed a long weekend so they booked me two days off today and tomorrow and apparently had to send a rally of emails to convince the supply agency that we weren't asking any of their teachers to cross any picket lines or something!!

Didn't strike so our school was open but had to try to explain to the children why they had to come to school when nearly all the neighbouring schools were closed.

Oh my is this unfair, one school open and others not. I bet the children had plans.
