Hi again,

I was sat thinking last night

Alex has been through a lot lately and want to do somthing

To cheer him up, then I thought I have never taken AJ to the zoo and thought that would be fantastic but what I wanted to know is have any of you had problem with the animals and asthma (AJ is type 2 brittle) the thing is pet danda doesn't really effect his asthma although we don't have any pets and he doesn't spend much time around any.

I was just trying to think of somthing fun and age appropriate (7) which he want have to use to much energy.

Matty is type 2 brittle and we have never come across animal allergies with him.I just give him benadryl liquid just to make sure. You can buy it in boots. My other son has mild asthma and is allergic to animals, it works for him.

Hope you have a good day out

I am brittle and survived the zoo a couple of weeks ago.

Mostly the animals are in glass enclosure or so far away to be of any problem - Most good zoos are really open and have large enclosures etc.

The only problem you could have is the farm areas or petting bits with goats, sheep etc. (Goats at Colchester zoo are all decended from Houdini so all over the petting area)

the only bit I actively avoided was the horse section.

Other areas to be aware of are enclosed aviaries with free flying birds.

Otherwise, go and enjoy!

Whipsnade is fantastic, Colchester fantastic too!
