May I ask for your feedback on a joint pain recovery idea I’m working on?

Hello everyone,

I hope it’s okay to post this here — if not, I fully understand and I’ll happily remove it.

I’m currently working on an early-stage idea for a health recovery tool that focuses on joint pain and arthritis support. Before going any further, I wanted to reach out directly to people who truly understand these challenges — like the members of this community.

The concept I’m exploring involves two things:

✅ Tracking joint health and inflammation over time, with the aim of helping people notice patterns or changes they might otherwise miss.

✅ Combining this with red light therapy, which some studies suggest may help reduce inflammation and support healing.

I’ve put together a very short (2-minute) survey to learn whether something like this could be helpful — and to hear what people actually need (or don’t need) when it comes to joint recovery tools.

If it’s okay with the moderators and the community, I would be grateful for the chance to share the survey link here. But if surveys aren’t allowed, I completely respect that — and I appreciate the time you took to read this either way.

Thank you so much for all the wisdom, experience, and support that’s shared in this group. 🙏

Wishing you all the best,

Nicholas

Sounds like a great idea.

All the very best with your research -- and I hope you will share the results when that time comes.

Good luck.👍

Thanks for reply! Are surveys here allowed?

I wish I could get some answers on my survey, it only takes like two minutes!

Thanks in advance! Any feedback we appreciate!!

Surveys like yours are ok.

You are not trying to sell anything.

It will take time for people to get up to speed and to engage.

They are quite a bright bunch here!😎😝

You could ask administrator - see here - but the only thing that may be an issue is if you are promoting anything which would give you personal gain… ie. Are you working for the company that produces the device?

Okay thanks.. good luck with it.

I’ll have a look at survey as an osteoarthritis sufferer - anything that helps is a great idea. I guess you’ve contacted other organisations like versusarthritis site-

Thanks for telling about versusarhtrits, I contacted now them.

Is there any other organizations I could contact what do you think?

As your profile states Finland as place of residence, I’m guessing you are looking Europe wide? So any charity that deals with osteoarthritis in those countries, plus depending on time, cost and bureaucracy perhaps relevant health authorities in individual countries.

There are a couple of other forum on HU as well -

You probably also need to expand your survey to other chronic illnesses that cause pain - many come under the umbrella of rheumatology.

Thank you so much for your response! May I ask you a couple of quick questions?

1. Do you currently track your joint health in any way? For example, flare-ups? I’ve seen that some mobile apps help with this.

2. Would it be helpful to monitor inflammation using biofeedback sensors — something that gives simple, easy-to-understand insights about your current inflammation status and tracks it over time?

3. Have you ever tried red light therapy? If yes, did it help at all?

Thanks again in advance, DorsetLady! 😀

I haven’t used apps to monitor flares etc.. more unlikely in osteoarthritis compared to other forms of arthritis . I’m more inclined to keep notes and then transfer to my own IT records .. I have had 3 arthritic joints replaced [2018, 2019 & 2020] but my current OA in one shoulder is well controlled.

I did have a serious self limiting auto immune disease a few years ago when I started to keep my own records, and monitoring inflammation would certainly have been useful with that type of disease. So maybe you should be looking at those diseases…see link for list of the most common ones - and there are other forums on this platform covering those -
