Has anyone got two or even 3 of these conditions, as they can overlap making a diagnosis difficult....
Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorder, cervical spine disorders (CSD), and Meniere's disease are all associated with each other and may be caused by the same stress, nervousness, and muscular tension. Some studies have found that treating TMJ and CSD can significantly reduce the frequency and intensity of symptoms associated with Meniere's disease, including:
Vertigo, Dizziness, Headache, Pain in the vertex area, Tinnitus, and Aural fullness.
Some patients with Meniere's disease have also reported symptoms of cervical spine disorders, such as:
Head, neck, and shoulder pain
Limitations in side bending and rotation
Jaw movements can influence tinnitus in one-third of patients with Meniere's disease, and head or neck movements can trigger vertigo in 75% of patients.
Because doctors often don't consider TMJ, people with ear-related symptoms might not receive a diagnosis of the true cause. A CT scan or MRI of the brain can help eliminate other potential causes of symptoms.
